Scalable Real Estate Valuation with Automated MLOps Pipelines

We built a scalable valuation system to estimate rental prices from heterogeneous data at scale. By applying Gradient Boosted Machines with region-specific variants and an MLOps framework (Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, and MLflow), we delivered accurate estimates for 100M+ properties with over 80% accuracy and minimal downtime. 

Our customer in the real estate analytics space was facing a significant bottleneck in estimating rental prices from heterogeneous data (location, property features, regional variations) at scale. Their existing manual approaches were no longer viable, as they lacked the consistency and accuracy required to handle millions of property records effectively.  

To address these data complexities, we developed a valuation engine centered on Classical ML techniques. We applied Gradient Boosted Machines over millions of property records, utilizing region-specific model variants to capture unique, localized pricing patterns. 

To make this system production-ready, we implemented a structured MLOps framework to manage the model lifecycle.  

• Airflow was used to orchestrate periodic retraining jobs across regional datasets, ensuring the models remained relevant as market data changed.  

• For deployment, we used Docker and Kubernetes to serve these models as APIs, providing consistent and scalable predictions globally. 

• To maintain long-term performance, we integrated Prometheus-based monitoring to detect regional data drift, which triggered retraining or rollbacks as needed.  

• Finally, all model and feature variants were centrally registered in MLflow to ensure full governance, reproducibility, and lineage tracking across the entire machine learning operation. 

This solution delivered the following measurable outcomes:  

• Delivered accurate rent estimates across 100M+ properties 

• Achieved over 80% prediction accuracy 

• Enabled continuous model deployment with minimal downtime
